If you have enough money to even THINK about purchasing a luxury home in CA, talk to a couple high-end realtors and explain what you are looking for.

They don’t have a lot of fires/mudslides in Oakland, so you should move there. Definitely Oakland. In all of California, that’s the place for you to go.

I live in Central California…a great area since we really aren’t affected by all the things you are asking about…there have been a few Wild-Fires that we have been slightly hit with the smoke making its way toward us…but none of the fires are close enough to cause any “real” damage…we don’t get mud-slides since most of our homes are not perched on hills…every now and then we get a Trembler…but so far so good…the last BIG quake we FELT was centered in San Francisco 100 miles away in 1987…so I would say look in Central California.
